Belt Material Guide for Buyers

Compare leather articles, PU, textiles and mixed constructions using sourcing-ready terminology.

Use this guide to make product decisions explicit before quotation and sampling.

Buyer-ready information.

Clear terminology and measurement references reduce hidden assumptions, sample revisions and price comparisons based on different scopes.

Does “genuine leather” define quality?

No. It is too broad for a manufacturing brief. Specify the leather article, layer or split, tannage, finish, substance and construction.

What should be requested for PU?

Composition, backing, thickness, surface direction and performance requirements such as flexing or hydrolysis where relevant.

Why does backing matter?

Backing affects hand feel, strength, edge behavior, bonding and long-term surface performance.

Bring us the product brief. We will identify the decisions needed for sampling and quotation.
